The Florence Mensah Foundation, in collaboration with Reflo Company Ltd, has triumphantly wrapped up its transformative project, “Helping 1,000 Girls to Embrace Their Flow” in Keta.
This landmark initiative has redefined menstrual health education in Keta Kedzi, ensuring that young girls are empowered with knowledge, dignity and the resources they need to flourish.
At a vibrant closing ceremony in Keta, community leaders, educators, parents and beneficiaries gathered to celebrate the initiative’s success.
A highlight of the initiative was the distribution of Reflo’s sanitary pads to 300 girls at Kedzi Hadzi Basic School. This effort is part of a larger strategy by the foundation to ensure an all-year-round supply of sanitary pads, crucial for keeping adolescent girls in school. Notably, this was the second visit to Keta: while the initial visit provided a six-month supply of pads, the recent distribution delivered another six-month supply.
In her stirring closing address, CEO of Reflo Company Ltd, Ms. Rebecca Osam expressed heartfelt gratitude to partners, including Springfield LTD, dedicated staff and generous donors worldwide. “To our girls in Keta, know that you are capable, outstanding and destined for greatness. Your menstrual cycle is a symbol of your strength and womanhood—embrace it with pride,” she declared.
As the foundation continues its mission across Ghana, it invites stakeholders and like-minded organisations to join in creating a future where every girl is free to thrive, emphasising that while this phase of the initiative has concluded, their mission to empower young girls across Ghana continues unabated.
